iPhone 5 vs Nokia Lumia 920 vs Samsung Galaxy Slll

iPhone 5, Nokia Lumia 920 and Samsung Galaxy SIII are the three top leading phones in the market. Each has a specialization in its own way. They have been recently released in the market and since then they had been in tough competition.

Display & Screen

iPhone 5 has four inch retina display. Alongside Samsung Galaxy SIII has 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED Display. Nokia Lumia 900 has ClearBlack AMOLED Display.

iPhone 5 has a large screen which is measured to be 4 inches. Nokia Lumia on the other hand has a screen length of 4.5 inches. Samsung Galaxy is slightly bigger than the two with a screen of 4.8 inches. The three different screen matches up to the expectation of the user. Samsung is 306 ppi and iPhone has 326 ppi. Nokia on the other hand had introduced Nokia PureMotion HD Plus.

Operating System

Nokia Lumia is using Microsoft’s latest version of the operating system. iPhone has its original iOS 6. It has one of the most interesting features of Passbook. This is mainly Apple’s newly launched e-ticket application. Galaxy S3 has Android 4 as its operating system. This is mainly Ice Cream Sandwich. Samsung has future plans to update to the version of 4.1 or Jellybean.

Processor and Storage

Nokia uses a dual core processor with a Snapdragon S4 chip which is 1.5 GHz. Samsung’s processor is Exynos 4412 which is quad core and 1.4 GHz. Apple uses dual core similar to Nokia. It has double graphics power and CPU speed. A5 has a smaller and battery friendly chip.

Nokia 920 has an inbuilt storage system of 32 GB. Other than this it has a cloud storage system and Sky drive. There is a micro SD support for Samsung Galaxy S3. The internal drive may come in three different storage capacities such as 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. The iPhone 5 also have the same internal storage as Samsung Galaxy SIII.


In case of camera devices Nokia is leading the front. It is using Carl Zeiss Lenses. Nokia Pure View 808 is the first pure view technology. The camera is 8 mega Pixel. There is also an additional front camera ranging to 1.3 mega pixel.

Samsung Galaxy III also has an 8 MP rear camera. The burst mode is capable of taking a huge number of photos within one night.

iPhone 5 has a smaller camera comparatively. The sensor size is 8 mega pixels. The BSi sensor is 3264*2448 and the aperture is f/2.4. The low light performance of the camera is pretty good and is capable of video calling with a 720p resolution.


2000mAh battery is featured in Lumia 920 and is still confusing about its capability to support the large screen. Galaxy SIII uses a removable battery which is 2100mAh. It has a much longer duration than the previous batteries such as 1800 mAh used by Samsung. iPhone 5 has a much better battery life and it ranges to 1440 mAh. The company says that it is better than Apple 4S.
